My friend have a '94 Eclipse Turbo Awd, One morning he run on the highway and suddenly the transfer case broke and the rear wheels lock!  Fortunately no accident but he had the fear of its life. After i have buy a 94 eclipse FWD... I can't trust AWD!

Was his car properly kept up and maintained?  Any previous problems related to the drivetrain?  Thats a very rare occurance.  My GSX that I had never had any problems.  Only reason I got rid of it was because I wanted a Spyder and now I'm in the process of aquiring parts to convert the drivetrain to GSX specs....

Transfer cases on 1g's are prone to breaking in high power or high mileage vehicles.  Some people weld the transfer case for better durability, but that opens up a new chapter of problems waiting to happen.
