hey guys, used to have an STi but got rid of it.  maybe next year im looking to get something again.  well, the goal is 400-420whp.  just wondering what all an evo needs to make these #'s reliably?  some guys on an sti forum said the evo could do this on a stock turbo.  i realize exhaust, fuel systen, ecu, tuning all need work...but help me out with this evo stuff.

only Evo that can do that on a stock turbo is the IX.  the VIII will come just short.  a FPgreen turbo will get you 450HP reliably.  you can go with a 50trim and meth and make 500 relibly.   the motor is good to 535 daily driven on the bottom end.   I have ~420HP on a 50trim setup without meth right now but I also got all the other supporting mods and planned for the future.   I have prob $10k into my motor but it is a simple meth kit away from 500hp and a turbo, tune, and meth kit away from anything futher.  The 35r 37r turbos bolt onto the 50trim manifold so that is why I started with the 50trim rather than a FPgreen.   Keep in mind the FPgreen is alot cheaper than a 50trim but all it is , is a stock upgrade it uses the stock maanifold which I didnt want to do (again planning for the future)

thanks for the info.  im not really wanting to run the meth injection.  420hp is the # i had in my head for power...so your set up sounds very nice.  so a turbo, header and full exhaust, fuel upgrades(pump, injectors, fuel rail?), reflash, and tuning is needed?  im sure the stock clutch needs upgraded.  how do the stock intercoolers do with this power?

the FMIC will need to be replaced,  the stock clutch is not even good enought for a stock Evo so yea a few bolts ons and a clutch is nice.  I am running the Turbotrix 50trim kit.   Which comes with the Bb50trim .63 a\r Custom tubular manifold, downpipe, lower IC pipe, wastgate and dump.  You need injectors 720+ , you need a fuel pump, you dont need a rail im on the stocker.  You will need a reflash which is a tune too.  You will need cams, ARP head studs.   There is a long laundry list of things to do.
