Wait so why would the intake not be able to connect the mas, so i could only use the stock air filter?

pretty much, you gotta have all of the air that engine is pulling in going through that mas or it will not run right, that thing is a burden on all DSM cars that evryone hates but has to deal with, to get rid of it gets expensive. most CAI for them cars are for the 2g with a 420a motor that dont have a mas on them. - you can get a K&N filter and cut up the stock aircan to help it out some but its gotta go through that sensor.

I had to order a new stock one since the original one was broke, which was why I got the other intake in the first place, but ill let you know if it fixed it when i get it here.

is the coolant temp sensor the same one that senses temp for fan?  i thought these are normally 2 different sensors.  my fan wont come on when its hot enough that it should.  and since it tells the ecu engine temp, would this cause the ecu to have the wrong mixture setting? my car was blowing black smoke when i would get on it before it overheated, and ONLY when i would romp the pedal.

You gotta look at the dates before you post.
There are 2 sensors one that is for the ecu and the other for the dash.

And by the way I answered your question in the other thread.

not to sound like an ass, but not sure what you are talking about looking at dates. i found a thread that has to do with the same thing i am dealing with and posted to it, bringing it back to top. as for the fact that you answered in the other thread, if you look at the time, you were answering the same time i was writing in this thread.

moot point anyway..geting rid of car.
