yellalancer02oz -> ?!Sway Bar Broken!? (11/8/2007 11:38:22 AM)

hey, when i got my 02 lancer oz's clutch fixed, my mechanic said that when the car was lifted he noticed that my sway bar was broken on both ends, how bad is that for my car, and how soon should i get that fixed. also. am i losing any preformance ability with it being broken??  thanks

well that'll affect the way the car handles... is it completely busted off? sounds to me like you need to upgrade! [:D] go ahead and get an aftermarket performance one

idk i didnt see it but its still on there its just broken. how much difference is there between an aftermarket sway bar vs. a replacement one??

it'll be a lot stiffer in the aspect of cornering... you'll be able to cut corners at a higher speed (not sure if that matters to you)... it just stiffens up ur suspension.

Well your gonna have more body roll if you dont fix it, and did the mechanic mean the links itself or the actual sway bar?

To me it sounds like all hes talking about is the links. Those are really cheap and easy to replace. Its just a bolt with a couple of washers and bushings

jpmontero98 -> RE: ?!Sway Bar Broken!? (11/9/2007 3:00:20 PM)

or bvuy an after market one[:)]better handling....

Thats what I figured too.  Aftermarket links wont really do much for handling, upgrading the sway bar would.
