I was wondering if the top end could be fliped on a 420a to change which side the intake was on? I bought a motor a 420a that was desinged for turbo and was told that it would fit into a gs without turbo.

there is no such thing as a 420a turbo motor. The 2g eclipse non turbos always had the intake on the right

So we all know that the supercharged engines need the intake bypass valve so they work in reverse. Otherwise the supercharger would just suck all the air out of the cylinder

See what I mean about the intake being on the wrong side? The one in the car has the intake in the back when the "new" motor has the intake on the front. The "new" motor has the six bolt main.

That's cause the new motor isnt a 420a, it's a 4g63, which is not swappable into an rs or gs which im assuming you have... ya got the wrong motor bud

Sorry to say it but you cant really swap anything else in there....That isnt a 6bolt motor either its a 7bolt, unless the bottom end is 6 bolt.  Your kind of stuck with the 420a. Threads come up like this all the time. If you want more info on it, search.

lol, not true. After all the basic upgrades, Tubro + NOS will do the trick.

you can swap it into a car that already has a 4g63(or with alot of $$$ and fab work and time thats just a waste you can swap it to your car), but id just sell it, get $$$ out of it and buy some real mods to make that car fast ...you can turbo it but you would have to run low boost(wich it would be better and cheaper to buy a GSX or GST and run higher boost and get power out of it).thats my advice
