locate a/c low side port on 98 montero

Can anyone tell me exactly where the a/c low side service port is on a 98 fullsize montero? I understand it's between the compressor and the evaporator, but still can't seem to find it. Please help...I'm burning up!!

On my '99 fullsize the low side port in right on top of the compressor. There is a bolted-on manifold "block" assembly that connects both the low and high side pipes to the compressor. The low port valve and cap are on the front of that manifold. It is easy to get to from the top of the engine compartment - almost directly below the inward side of the battery - somewhat hidden by the radiator hose. Hope this helps.

THANKS! That was an exact discription. Found the port, charged it up, but it really didn't cool off much so obviously it's a much larger problem than recharging. Time to go and get it checked. Only had the montero for a month, bought it from someone in Maine so I thought maybe it was because it hadn't been used. Thanks again, it was making me crazy!
