ya, the motor mount on the drivers side would be different and prolly wouldnt fit..  Along with other accessories on the motor..  If its a 6 bolt there are certain parts that you need to fit it.

Have your mechanic check the flywheel and see if there are 6 bolts holding it or 7 bolts..  That will be a big thing!

After looking at those pictures better It really looks like a 6 bolt motor...

If it is in fact a 6 bolt motor here is a list for ya, of the things your mechanic will need..
Parts List
· 1G CAS (91-92 Optical Effect, 93-94 Hall Effect)
· 1G Oil Cooler (90-92 MD 157670 6bolt water cooled oil cooler)
· 1G Water Pump
· 1G Oil Pump/Front Case
· 1G Timing Belt necessities
· 2G Engine mount (modified) use 2G engine mount trimmed, with 1G tensioner arm
· 1G Timing Belt Covers (modified)
· 1G 90-92 6-bolt block (with whatever internals)
· 1G 6-bolt Flywheel
· 2G Starter Mounting bracket
· 1G Water Pipe
· 1G lower radiator hose
· 1G Thermostat housing/ Water Neck
· 1G 6-bolt oil pan Balance shafts (remove them or keep em, its up to you, we take them out)
· 2G Alternator
· 2G Power Steering Pump
· 2G A/C 2G Belts

both engines have 7 bolts holding on the flywheel

Mechanic still says pipe is wrong, I dont know why.  What a nightmare. 
I dont want to have the car towed all the way up here.  Can anyone confirm that the pipe he has is in fact the correct one???

It has aleady been confirmed that this engine is in fact a 7-bolt. My guess is now that we he has is from a 93-94 eclipse turbo. And that he has a stock 14b. Now in saying that its a 14b that means that YES the j-pipe will work. Unless  your missing an IC pipe it will work. Which there is no way your missing one. So this j pipe will. I really dont understand at all what this guys problem is. Here is another picture that shows you what your supposed to do with the stock intercooler pipe

Thanks so much John for all your help ... if he still cannot do I ill just have it towed to someone I trust.  What a nightmare.

I know it will work, just have to find someone to do the work.
