hey guys... im back at it again, and this time lookin on what i would need to do to let that engine breathe better. now ... i've heard about the 1G head swap and dont have too much info on this. also did a search and came up empty... what are the pros and cons of the 1g swap ?? also ... which one would flow better the ported 1G or the ported 2G head ??? the reason being is that i want to get myself a head and start workin on it over the winter... get the arp head studs, metal headgasket, new valves, cams, cam gears, intake manifold and a tubular turbo manifold. this way i know for sure that the engine can breathe good :) i already opened up the exhaust a lil bit ( removed rear muffler and catalitic ) after im done with the headwork a turbo upgrade along with downpipe and exhaust will follow. fueling as of right now is slowly comming together as 750's, Aeromotive fuel rail, aeromotive fpr and 255 walbro. also for christmass wifey is getting me the DSM Link.

Get a 1gen head w/ 93-94 turbo cams. The ports on the 1gen head are a lot bigger ad the cams have a more aggressive lift then the 2gen. Also use the 1g intake manifold and t/b too. Check out vfaq.com they compare the heads and intake manifolds between 1gens and 2gens. I think there is a write up abt using a 1g head on a 2gen car.
