Left the truck for the 1st time out in the cold weather. And noticed now that whenever I shift into reverse or drive
a few seconds later seems like truck goes into neutral. After a minute
or so all of a sudden the truck will lunge and start moving again. The
months prior this would happen maybe 2x a month. I did notice that
whenever I shift from reverse to drive or vice versa I hear a buzzing
sound coming from the undercarriage passenger side aft of engine. Going
to try and clean contacts with contact cleaner. Anbody seen this before???

UPDATE

Replaced
the sensor that was buzzing when going from Drive to Reverse (Input Shaft Speed
Sensor) new one does the same thing. I am not sure if this is normal or
I have another bad sensor. Problem still persists..

Any Help Would Be Appreciated.

Thanks!

I know you may have heard this (and you sound knowledgeable)...but to clear it out of the way...how is the fluid?

I had replaced the trans. fluid with oem quarts back when I did the timing belt/water pump at 100K (drain & refill).  Currently the mileage is 119K and the trans fluid looks great on the dipstick and smells good. .  I did notice while shifting from Park to Drive there was alot more resistance than I would expect.  To note there is no check engine light or flashing 4WD Lights.  I usually goto www.mitsubishitechinfo.com for the $19.99 24 hour pass to look at factory manual but the site ain't working right tonight....

UPDATE

Went outside and moved shift lever like 50x from Park to Drive, and also cleaned all connectors with contact cleaner.  No more buzzing sound on speed sensor I replaced and truck is operating like normal.
