if your water pump completely stops working will it break your timing belt or seize up your motor?

Well, the water pump itself wont mess up the timing belt, or sieze the motor. However, no water circulating = more heat. Now that will sieze your motor. DONT drive the car. Also, if your going to change that, change the tensioner, and the timing belt too.

if the shaft breaks or the belt jumps ..........yes it will bend most of the valves and could lock the motor up

If the water pump freezes, it will burn up the timing belt very quickly(before the engine over heats
). The timing belt turns the pump. If the timing belt breaks if wont harm the valves though as I have broken 3 belts, I should know.
