Gasses seaping out of the combustion chamber.

Its pretty common. Next time change your oil sooner.

Well, I would have changed the oil sooner, but I just bought it and it had fresh oil in it when I got it. I have put less then 100 miles on it and checked the oil when I noticed the smell.  What causes the problem and how do I fix it?

Could be bad rings. Do a compression test.

Check your pcv valve, it could be bad.  And its pretty cheap part to start with.
