Thats what i was thinking compose. With the cams alone in a NA car you should be able to get 5whp from them just from the increases duration. Add some gears to that and advance the timing and that would be alittle more.

Here is what i think. Your friends car were not performing at their best originally because of there age and they were also improperly tuned therefore the gains were not seen.

And rob what do you mean they should be in the end of your build. You should know more then most that cams are a great way to get power out of any car right away. Especailly with your evo with a flash and cams you gain like 20-30hp or something like that. I dont remember the exact figures

i guess engineer when you actually take something that makes sence and then you read what sebba just wrote, its just down right rediculous. It's absolutely impossible for your to have all those modifications and only gain 4whp. I suggest you stop reading too many online stories and focus on telling useful information. I dont mean to steer of topic but alot of readers here are on the site for information. Not for B.S like that. Excuse my "harsh-ness"

He probably got all the stuff for the car, threw it in the back and slowed it down from the weight. You can put a brand new distributor in a V8, but if it's not tuned, it won't run any better......It might even shoot fire out the carb...

A buddy of mine put 3 grand in mods to an RSX and lost power too. He didn't tune it......He thought bolt on was it..

Anytime you clean up some ports, put in reasonable cams, possibly adjustable cam gears to tune the cams, improve air flow in and out, or anything to make the motor more efficient, it will be more responsive.
