Hi all,
I had to make an emergency stop this afternoon on the way home from work in my 07 Outie. When I did so I felt the ABS kick in followed by a very loud clunk from the front end. It sounded like it happened when the nose went down, so it might be suspension related. Anyone else have any similar experiences or advice?

I want to say that I heard that noise on an emergency stop I had a couple of months ago. I can't be too sure though. Unfortunately, I wasn't able to stop in time, and had an accident.

Did it sound like the clunk, that all outies do when you first start the car and get up to 5 mph? If so it is probably just normal operation noise.

Like talked about in other thread, when the ABS is activated you will hear some grinding. This is normal. If you are hearling like one big "pop" or something else, then it might be something else.

I doubt its the slight "pop/clunk" noise we all hear when starting out the Outtie at 5mph since he was making a EMERGENCY STOP. Making a emergency stop at 5mph probably wont activate the ABS.

Side note: since its the middle of winter, when its cold and the Outtie has been siting for a while you might hear a small slight grind in the front end when going over the first few bumps or dips (or braking hard). This is most likely the bushings adjusting from being cold and stiff. This will happen more often in "sever weather" places, such as snow, gravel, and dusty areas.
