60-1 trim turbo?

newguy2007 -> 60-1 trim turbo? (1/13/2008 7:42:32 PM)

What exactly is the 60-1 trim turbo? In size? Ive heard about 16g and 20g and now 50 trim and all different measurments. I have the 60-1 trim in my car and it spools up pretty nice.

Also, i was just wondering about a hp estimate for my car. I think im going to get it dynoed pretty soon but until then:  97 eclipse gst spyder

650 cc fuel injectors
bigger fuel pump(?)
FMIC
greddy bov
wastegate
60-1 trim turbo
safc II
hks valve controller
running 25 psi boost
turbo timer
full 3" exhaust
running 93 octane fuel
manual (brand new clutch friday)

I think thats about it.

That turbo is actually pretty massive. Its bigger than a 50 trim. Its about the equivilant to a 30R. Basically a 500hp capable turbo.

Total overkill with your mods

as long as it still spools up nice does it matter?

You do have a wideband also right. Make sure your running a good A/F ratio. And i think at that PSI your really pushing the limits of that SAFC. You might want to think about upgrading to DSMlink or something. I would turn that boost down a bit to like 20 until your sure your running at a safe a/f.

But for an estimate its hard to say because the tune will really change it. If i had to guess id say no more than 320 only because of the safc. Its definetly capable of the 400hp+ though

If you are okay with it... then its just fine.

However, you can get the same power from a much smaller turbo, and you will have better spool.

Im suprised your motor is handling that size of turbo at 25 psi...   Should be pretty quick though..

thats what im wondering advocate. Especially only on an SAFC. It doesnt add up to me.

I bet its knocking like a ****

someone else told me this too. I will check the psi tommorrow and try to turn it down to about 20.(once i figure out how to use the ****ing hks)

So did you have a wideband?
