What all kind of mods  would you need to support one of these? and how good are these turbos   I like how you dont have to change anything to install it.

Honestly, its barely different from the stock turbo. Its also a little expensive for the gains you get. The reason it bolts up is because it uses the housing of the stock turbo. They are identical from the outside. The only difference is the center piece.

A better, more powerful, and more cost effective turbo would be an EVO III 16g. It bolts up just like the T28, but the difference is the potential.

However, with that being said, they are both good turbos. I would just rather have the 16g because its cheaper and you can get more power from it.

To run the turbo itself, you dont actually need any other mods. However, if you actually want to make power, then you will.

In order to maximize the output, i would to my mods in this order:

Intake
Recirculated Blow off valve
Exhaust
Boost gauge
Manual boost controller set to 16psi
EVO III 16g
Front mount intercooler.

Now, thats just the basic. If you want to go one step further, and be able to crank it up to 23lbs of boost, then you can do these:

Apexi SAFC II + 660cc injectors
Wideband Gauge
Walbro 190lph fuel pump

Then you should be well over 300 at the wheels. Of course with all this added power, and a clutch that already has a decent amount of miles on it, its going to need replacing soon. So, for the clutch i recomend going with an ACT 2600 with a street disc. Optionally, you can get a Fidanza light flywheel too, but its not mandatory at all.

Other mods you could do just for the hell of it:

Cams (nice set of 264's or something)
Cam gears
Porting of the exhaust manifold, turbo inlet and outlet.

Any questions?

Yeah they are similar.

Seriously you will be fine.

Why are you putting in a new motor? Where are you getting it from?

well i was gonna buy another awd tsi  for like 3 grand and the rate before i was gonna buy it an oil line blew and the oil pressure gauge wasnt working  so the engine is shot  so now i get the car for 800 with the motor in it and another extra one that needs rebuild.  I was goin to 6 bolt swap  but i think im just gonna throw another 7 bolt in to it  and i was thinking about bigger turbo rate off the bat.
heres a pic   for only 800 not to bad

That is a really good deal for $800...   Good find..

Ive seen some dyno sheets on the big t28 turbo and that thing puts out some good numbers...   But like seb said, you cant beat the price you can get the 16g's for..
