I was just wondering how much a turbo would cost me. Iwas thinking about getting a 95 eclipse gsx, stick, but it has a blown turbo, He said it leaks oil which cause the car to smoke. I was wondering How much would a stock turbo cost, or if the price isn't to excessively more, or bigger turbo. But if it requires me to have to spend even more on the engine i can hold off. I want to build the engine over a period of time. And if possible where to get the turbo your talking. Thanks in advance.

You can buy the stock t-25 turbo used for around 125.00 usually.  If you want to upgrade to something bigger, you can get an evo3 16g for around 350.00 used usually.  But if you get a bigger turbo you will have to do some fuel upgrades as well as a tuning device and gauges.  check out dsmtrader.com, you can usually find both these on that site.

Let say i bought the the 16 turbo, how much would i have to spend on the fuel system and guages. And how much do mechanics charge to put in. My brother in law is a mechanic and said he's never done a turbo before but is sure he can do it. Is it something Extremely hard to do

No its not. and you only need the other stuff if yo uwant to run it at its full potential.

Seriously, a turbo causing a decent oil burn is unlikely.

I recomend doing a compression test on the engine before continuing further.

according to the guy the turbo started going bad and now the turbo doesnt even give 25% boost anymore and due to the crack in it it spits oil everywhere causing loads of smoke. I want to put some money into the engine but just what i need to get started. Sorry for wasting your time with dump questions.

I would definately get that fixed asap.  I agree with sebba though it would be a good idea to get a compression test just to see if the engine is worth building up, if not then what your trying to do is pointless lol.

that engine is the 4g63, there are several websites you can get one from including one i posted earlier in this thread.  Just do a search on this forum and you will find tons of info and sites.  Also look up a 6 bolt block if you do end up getting a new motor.
