OK so i have to make a pretty big decision, my first car im tuning (Eagle Talon Which im starting to get confused with, hood says TSI, but signs point to it not being a TSI motor) bought it riced with a blown motor like a week ago. I tore off all the ****ty parts, body parts, and extras (for now) and i have to decide what to do with the motor. I have already started to take the motor apart; well whats left of it the guy i bought it from is beyond dumb. Took the entire wire harness off; blew the head gasket; Took out the rocker arms; and i havn't seen under the head yet (hoping it wont he ****ty, almost gaurentee it will be though). So anyways what do i do!?

1. Rebuild current motor.

2. Buy new JDM motor.

and for transmission

1. Leave auto

2. Convert to manual (FWD)

3. Convert to manual (AWD)

Give me your input, and any ideas you have for me. Maybe even prices if you can find it for cheap :)!! thx alot

Well it would help to know if this really is a tsi or if its an ESI. The biggest indicator is whether you have a stock turbo or not

If it doesn't have turbo then you don't have a 4g63 it is a 420A, we have to know that detail first. Is your battery on the passenger side or the drivers side?

Does your engine look like the one shown in the below link,  If not then you have a 420a my friend.

From what it sounds like you have a 420a, i would just rebuild the current engine. And you cannot drop a 4g63 in it

It shouldnt say TSi on the hood. Sounds like someone just put that there.
Also, theres no "JDM" 4g63t per se. The engine origin is USA.
Though if it IS a 420a (which like Engineer says, it sounds likely) theres little possiblities with the body OR engine.
