1992 Eclipse GS, 2L. I can accelerate, kind of. When I give it just a little gas, it does eventually speed up, but if I give it too much, all I get is RPM. I read the previous thread and got the idea that perhaps my clutch was slipping, but there are other issues. Like many 1G, my syncros are totally ****ed. I have to double clutch to get out of reverse, and I lost my 5th gear totally. I was wondering if anyone might think this could be an issue with gear oil. I'm a college student, so taking it anywhere and getting any work done to it that isn't absolutely neccesary is completely out of the question, and since I don't trust anyone around here, I'd have to drive home to get any good prognosis. So...help?

sounds to me like the clutch is slipping and its burnt out. It might be a multiple problem between the clutch and the syncro's
