EVO4L -> boost controller (1/29/2008 2:03:53 PM)

Hey i am not the best when it comes to the turbos on the evo but i was hoping someone could help me out. Well I rather have a electronic boost controller and i dont want to spend a whole lot of money on it so i was looking at the AEM 30-4350 TRU-BOOST Gaugeost Controller i dont no if it is junk or if it will do the job. Other wise i was looking at the manual controller that you can adjust from inside you car which is the Hallman evo RX boost controller kit. Also i was wondering if i need a new o2 sensor with that?
thanks

I have the AEM TruBOOST on my Evo.  I love it.  I switched from a Manual boost controller.  The AEM is easy to use.   and no you dont need an o2 why would you even think that?

i dont know i heard it somewhere or maybe i just misunderstood. Anyways can you have a controller and a regular boost gauge? also what are you boosting at on ur evo and what do you can for mods on it? also i was told that you can boost at 24 psi safly with a fuel pump, o2 housing and full exhaust, and controller. correct?
thanks im a newbie

The AEM tru boost is a gauge / controller in one so no need for a gauge.   I have $10k in motor mods so where do you want me to start lol?  I run 24PSI on pump gas with my 50trim turbo.  I wouldnt do that on your stock turbo it is really on effiecent to 22-23PSI more than that youll get marginally gains.  If you have a VIII you need a fuel pump first and for most if you have an IX then its not as important right off the bat.

how many horse does your evo have?

EMonz57 -> RE: boost controller (1/30/2008 6:03:07 AM)

415WHP on pump gas at 24SI,  on race gas or 93 and meth it will make over 500WHP.

the turboxs manual is great and cheap you can stage your boost. say you set one controller at 12 pounds and hve the other one at 20 you put a switch in your car . go normal driving at 12 pounds flip the switch and your at 20 for racing

EVO4L -> RE: boost controller (2/2/2008 7:24:49 PM)

so your saying that with the manual boost controller you can flip a switch for street and racing? that would be really handy. also your talking about the one that you install inside your car right?
