Well.. Here.

I want to make the 3g quicker. I'd like a turbo. Now, i'm not just about to go off and spend $2000 on some bullshit kit. What actual parts will I need for this.

I'm probably going to stick the 3g in my garage for a week while i do the project.

I listed the parts...

Come to think of it... that GSX actually does have a built motor. That price isnt that bad.

I would ask what the compression ratio is on the pistons. As long as its like 8.5 (stock) or 9:1 then its okay.

Heres part one:

Transmission Cooler:
One
Two
Three

or: A suggestion? Links are highly appreciated

I don't want to put you all up to something, but i'd like to do this step by step. My brother refused to help me with anything with the 3g eclipse, and he practically builds cars.

He says he doesn't want me getting into this. F- That, I am going to turbo the eclipse. I have a few friends who can help me do installation provided I have beer for afterwards.

So:
1. Transmission Cooler
2. Turbo (Includes all that was mentioned previously by Sebba)
3. Evo 8 Head Swap
4. Catback exhaust

Now, for the Turbo parts required.
Please, if a list with correct parts needed could be posted. I agree with estraw, lower compression.

Even if you do by some magical event, actually turbo the car, it will be a problematic little bitch. You run the risk of blowing the ring lands on the pistons... and just destroying the motor all together.

Seems very unlikely, elaborate.

boost on a motor not intended to be boosted WILL lead to bad things (likely a blown motor) if you dont do it right. and you, not knowing what you are doing (not to insult your inteligence), there is a very high chance that your motor will be effed

Dude you are in no way ready to undertake this.

I agree with sebba.  on top of that a turbo kit alone will run you $3000-$4000 then it needs to be put in and tuned.   and a cat back hould NOT be a last mod when turboing your car.   you should have a 3 inch exhaust prior to even turboing the car

Meh. I tried. Maybe the $500 300zx was a good idea.. I could have worked on that and not cared if it was royally 'effed' up.

I think i'll go with the RSX Type-S in the coming year. I can make around $4-5k from the RS, and spend around 4-5k.
