I've had valuable input from all of you, and Emonz has made a great suggestion.

Some backround:
-2001 Eclipse RS 2.4L Automatic
Mods: Performance wise, just a K&N Cold Air Intake and a Megan Racing Muffler

So this is my question:
Would it be worth it to turbo my Eclipse 3g? I've been told that (Sebba) "If I want speed, sell it and get a 3g GT or a 2g GSX."

I don't want to sell it, but is this a true statement?

I'm looking to turbo the eclipse-

1. Transmission Cooler
2. Slap the turbo on the 4g64
***At this stage, it will give around 300whp, and 10-15 PSI, Correct?

If I get a bigger paycheck:
3. Evo 8 Head swap
4. Cat-Back Exhaust (last and final engine mod)

What would you say about the 3g RS Automatic being slow? And would the Tranny cooler + Turbo really put out around 300whp? I need some advice, please. Thanks.

When did i say get a GT?

Well, that wasn't you :D But the GSX part was true.

Now, give me 'yo opinions on it, Sebba. Pleash.

Things required to turbo:

Exhaust manifold.
Intake Manifold
Custom DP
Custom Catback
o2 Housing
Turbo
Injectors
SAFC II or Greddy E-Manage
Fuel pump
Front mount intercooler
Blow off valve

The list goes on.

Seriously, if you even have to ask the question, then you shouldnt be doing it. If you dont know what you are doing at all times then you are going to **** up.

Even if you do by some magical event, actually turbo the car, it will be a problematic little bitch. You run the risk of blowing the ring lands on the pistons... and just destroying the motor all together.

The bottom line is, its much more cost effective, to get a GSX. Not to mention you will hate FWD with a passion with 300whp.

Oh, and learn to drive a stick.

Okay? Its a project. Its hard to find a GSX for a fair price too, by the way.

no.. 2 things that i noticed in the 20 seconds i looked at that page

quote:

Crower rods, high comp Pistons, ARP head studs.

thats not what you want if your building your motor for a turbo. you wanna lower compression not raise it

and 2. who the hell puts a 77k mile warranty on a built racing 4g63 block. sounds like bs to me

o and not that it matters much, but:

Windows have a slight 10% tint

10% tint is not "slight".. thats limo tint

Too much for what it is.

For 10k you should be able to get one with a built motor and transmission and a lot more mods. Although this one is low mileage too.

If you have the cash go for it... if not... i would wait it out.
