I live in Montreal where it's cold and icy, I think they have been usefull maybe 3-4 times, and it was because of fogging and not ice.

My spacestar doesn't have any symbols for heated mirrors either. But the glass has the element.

After some asking around and a lot of reading in the manual (it is not easy to find), it turns out the heated mirrors are linked to the heated rear window (demister).

I have since used the heated rear window switch when the mirrors were fogged up and found they cleared nicely.

Most vehicles heated mirrors are integrated with the rear window defroster. So they are not activiated till you turn on the rear defroster.

Below is a link to the SpaceStar:

I haven't been able to find a US version of it, but considering it was manufactured in Europe that's perhaps not too surprising.

Has anyone one determined if the US '07 models are pre-wired for adding heating elements?  Plug-n-play?

After 2 days of freezing rain I confirmed that mine doesn't have heated mirrors .  $180 doesn't sound so bad now for that convenience.

Yes, I also found out.. My XLS 07' has no heated mirrors..  This last storm here in Utah County had my mirrors filling with snow. Guess I could get out and clean em, was only going a few feet per hour..

What happen to the person that said they were going to pop their mirror off? I am going to check #22 and C-306 for the fuses and I guess its a relay under the hood.

There is only one relay for both the rear defroster and the mirrors, BTw The wirring diagram shows that the same connector is used for the heater and the power ajustment for the mirror so, I would be surprised that they have a different wirring harnest within the US.  E01 Right  E14 Left,  The diagram shows the connector inside the door, so you may only need to run wires from that connector the the mirror assembly.

I have good news and bad news.

The good news is that Safelite called me to say they found my mirror glass at 39.95 per side and that I could pick it up at my local installation center.

The bad news is that the wires are not in the mirror.  chenarm is most likely correct that you would have to tap in behind the door panel.

Chenarm where did you get the shop manual diagrams?
