thomas!! -> help w 95 mirage (2/4/2008 8:52:20 PM)

hey all, new to the forum, i drive honda but its not for me.... my friend has a '95(MT), and i think he fried some circuitry or something... He killed his battery, and improperly jumped it. Everything electric went hay-wire: wipers, radio lights... Anyhow, he finally put a new battery in and everything seemed fine... his car then died on him again.... now normally i'd say this is a simple alternater issue, but how did it happen in the time frame of making his car go crazy to putting in the new battery... also he just replaced his master and slave cylinders and the boots for his brakes and isn't looking to spend more $ on this... is there some other possibly that maybe he burnt a fuse or something... i know its improbable but just askin. would appreciate any and all opinions... he's pretty much done with it if it involves spending more than $75... college kids, what can you do....

More than likely fuse.

okay... but any idea as to what fuse???

Pull them all. It will take 5 mins. When you screw up something like that...

You could have fried the ECU, the alternator... who knows.

That is one major dip **** thing to do.

yeah i know... thing is i didn't do it... he said he did it according to the owners manual(?)... but i've only driven saturn and honda so mitsubishi is new to me... any how when i get a moment between classes or on the weekend i'll go check it out. Thanks man

dude, a battery is a battery. there's a pausitive pole and a negative pole, you hook the red to red and the black to black. pretty self explanitory. if he jumped the battery backwards, he's a retard and should probably ride a bike from now on.
