wow this is such a postless post and making a big deal over absolutely nothing. Alot of people just leave the filter off when they are doing their first startups on a car. He is obviously not gonna be doing that when hes driving it.

If you notice the bumper i off so he must have just finished getting the turbo kit on. Its ok to be jelious sebba

I would do a blow through on my car its way better than the POS MAF.  even it not to vent but just to help the car so it wouldnt stumble so much cause with cams and a MAF they are tought to stay a float

I have NEVER seen anyone hook up their stock MAS like that.

Is there actually a point to it? What does he stand to gain?

Its a blowthrough.  If it is done right ya supposedly they are better for higherHP without going speed dencity.  Plus like I said no more RPM stumble.   You obviously dont know much about the 3Gs because they have been doing it that way for years just in order to turbo or Ripp the car

Some people dont even bother with a filter, they just put a mesh screen in front of it. Although i think that would be f-ing stupid on a daily driven car.

well no i'd get the filter... and i was actually thinking about fabbing an intake pipe to run to where the stock side mount sat... but if i run the mas like that by the throttle body i wouldnt have to spend a bunch of money on an intake pipe, i can just buy a k&n filter from advance or something

Then you would have to retune it... and be good at it.

I think thats something you shouldnt undertake....
