why would i retune it? i'd set it all up and have buschur tune it all at once... all it is is putting the stock maf on the uicp by the throttle body, right? it's not that gm maf thing... it shouldnt be any different than having in it's stock location, and like emonz said it'd run better... unless i'm totally missing something

Its prob not the stock MAF,  3G guys have done that in the past with the stock MAF though.  tearstone was the first to why away from it and there were reasons why but I dont remember.

whats up guys. I was just reading through this and wanted to tell ty that you can use the dejon tool 1g pipe and it relocates the filter to the sidemount position. Also, depending what turbo you have, you won't be able to just put the filter on the turbo. The water pipes will get in the way. I tried it that way before i got my new pipe, and it was on a mad gangster lean. It wouldn't fully seat and kinda made me nervous. Just wanted you to know brother. Have a good one.

I was contiplating doing this when I turbo'ed my 96 Galant. The reason I was contiplating it is because I reading a article on Sport Compact Magazine that the guys in Japan with Silvias are relocating their MAFs the same way to allow a vented blowoff. My concern was the air temps possibly doing damage to the MAF itself.

I never got enough information to go through with it since I guess DSM'ers have never done this setup.
