Hey Guys,

I'm a Volvo guy, but the roommates '97 Montero LS needs a blower fan ASAP (cold here in WI). Ordered a Haynes manual from eBay, but it hasn't shown up yet. Checker has a motor in stock, but it looks like I'm gonna have transfer the 'squirrel cage' over.

Where is the fan located and how hard is it to replace? Any pointers?

Well, you guys ain't nearly as helpful as the Volvo Community. Remove the lowest plastic panel beneath the glove box on the passenger side (one screw and a couple plastic clips) and there she blows. Three screws, 2 wiring connectors, one to the resistor, one to the motor.

Too bad the 'squirrel cage' on this one was melted from the heat of the bearing that seized in the fan, so we have to order a different fan off the internet that includes the plastic fan part.
