I've been offered a 2000 Montero Sport but current owner is selling because computer doesn't work, and does not want to invest any more $$$. I'm no expert on cars and have no idea how many does this model have. All I was told is that suv does not start/run but windows and locks work ok. Any suggestions? Thanks.

The guy is probably talking abt powertrain control unit (pcm/ecu) Its controls fuel, ingnition ect..., pretty much what makes the car run.

See if the owner car get one just so you can get the car running. I would be a little leary abt a bad ecu.
