how do i know if my lifters are bad?is there any way to check?just asking

ur ganna have to take them out. and compress them n c if oil comes out.
i dont remember if ur supposed to hand compress or a certain lbs.

i believe it's a certaing lbs's to see if oil comes out, and if the cars still together you'll hear whats called lifter tick

i have a slight tick but i heard thats normal on 4g63's,i change my oil every 1,500 miles!!

get a set of 3rd gen lifters, they have larger oil ports and are pretty cheap.  doesn't take more than an hour to swap them out.

No, its the 4G64, they have slightly larger diameter lifters, and they are known to resist ticking a lot more than the 4G63.

The lifters will tick if they are 'bad'. However, its not really a big deal, its more of an annoyance than anything.
