Because your friends propbably mod the car like retards. Treat and mod teh car right and nothing will break. Drive 20k miles on blown struts and spent break pads, and you of course you're going to bitch about your car.

Ya like mike said the 4g63 is a well built motor , only gen i know that had problems is the 2nd gen eclipse/talon with the crank walk issue , but personaly i never had a problem it when i owed my 99 gst . Drove it for 100k and half of those miles i was making a good 275-300whp. I took care of it and did the maintence and it lasted . now the 5 speed they had in the 2nd gen was like fine china , nice to look at , but if you take it out to use it you risk breaking it and  i went throw 4 tranies before i sold it. Don't let your friends make you think ur car is a peice of ****. listen to some of the experienced guys on here and do what they say and you'll evo will live a long happy life. I've listened to every piece of advice mike (emonz57) and my car shifts better and runs better then it did when i took it home.

Newbie? lol I know plenty about Evos, and the only reason I wanted to get this blow off valve is because like in my original post I said that the Greddy Type S is discontinued, and i'm not gonna just buy a used one off ebay or something.

No offence but based off of your posts in this thread about BOVs,  I dont think you are as fimiliar with the Evo as you think.  The right BOV is a very important part to keep the car running as it should.  Cheap BOVs wont cut it ,unless it is JDM MR DV or IX DV.  besides that I dont think he was calling you a newbie, I think it was just a in general comment.

I'm not really taking offense to it I was just making a point, especially when someone says buy a honda.. YEAHRITE **** a honda! that's 4 cheap bastards that think they have a nice car. It's not really a "cheap" bov but its what I found that is close to what I want. It's basically the same thing as a Greddy, here's the site.. let me no what you think. http://www.k2motor.com/mitsubishi46.html

I would never buy that BOV.  Dont get a fake greddy.  a BOV is very important to how your car runs.  if you get a ****ty BOV your car will run ****ty.  I would recommend getting either an IX DV, JDM MR DV, a APS duel vent, or a REAL greddy
