You need the translator and a GM MAF. I've heard its a pain in the a$$ to tune just on its own. If you have something like link then its better but unless your planing on running high HP you dont really need it.

lol, not true. After all the basic upgrades, Tubro + NOS will do the trick.

Is it worth it?

Well, no. I will explain below. (Matter of opinion)

Does it really work?

Yes, in a matter of speaking

How hard is it to install?

Fairly easy. However, tuning it is another story.

If I buy the translator what else do I need to have it setup?

You would need at LEAST DSMLink.

------------------------------------

Okay, there are many pros and cons of this setup. It all depends what you need from you're setup.

One major reason why I don't like this, is because of it's sensativity. The slightest change in temp, and the tune goes out the window. They are extremely hard to get right, and are never perfect. There are a few reasons why people upgrade to it. One, being that the stock MAS is a restriction when you are pushing upwards of 500hp. The other, is that people like to run a vented blow off valve; it is these people that need to have their nuts pulverised.

On top of all this, you need to tune it. Pretty much everyone uses DSMLink, and that just adds to the cost. Not to mention its hard to tune it.

The way I look at it, is Mitsubishi spent all this time developing the MAS to work with these cars, and installing some POS generic GM part to do its job, is simply taking a step backwards. Sure its less restrictive, but the consistancy goes out the window. I say F that.

So, I say it's not worth it.

nicely put..   I dont feel as stronly against them, but Ive heard a lot of things on that order about how hard they are to tune and work with..
