Hi,
I have a 2003 GTS Spyder that is stock and we have decided we want to keep it for  a long time. It has had good care(But not great) up to this point   73K miles, but no major service done to it all. No timing belt no plugs or wires no suspension fixes, no tranny service etc. Just oil changes and brakes. Over all it has been a great car. If I was willing to put some money in this car to get it serviced and up to tip top operating shape, what would all of you recommend as a laundry list of things it would want to have done to it to service it properly. It seems to be running just a tad rough but not bad really, but I know it needs some love... I do not want to take it to a dealer but I will find a local competent shop to do the work for me.

Does this car have 125K potential or am I wasting my money on it?

Also is there anything u can do to tighten up the front end as far as rattles/creaks goes? It just seems that all the joints have kinda lost their tightness.
Thanks for all your suggestions.....

The front end could be a bushing some place. Thats what they usually are.

I would do the timing belt ASAP! Timing belt, waterpump, tensioner, plugs, wires, transmission flush etc...

That car will last well over 125k. When you are around 100k, be ready to replace a clutch.

Are you saying replace the timing belt tensioner or the exterior drive belt tensioner? Relace the waterpump while you are in there too?

Thanks

Tell them (the dealer or whoever) you need the 70K mile work done. Which includes all of the above. If you let the timing belt issue go, I can assure you that engine will be destroyed.

What is the tensioner? I did not see that on my list to do when I did my 60K maintenance. Forgot the Tranny Flush guess I better get right on that. Anything you can do to the G3 to get better gas milage? I am getting 275 miles to the tank and thought I should be doing better.

Can I safely assume that it was included and installed when I bought the TB?
