Hi everyone...

It's time for my 60K tune up and I was pretty surprised to hear it would be $240 to replace the spark plugs in my '03 GST Spyder. I'm neither a mechanic nor a performance car guy, and I recall changing the plugs on my Mustang was easy and very very cheap. I was told my Eclipse requires Iridium plugs. Now, I don't cheap out on my car, but that's a pretty big jump in price. Are expensive plugs necessary? and would this be a difficult thing for someone with pretty limited mechanical skills to do himself? I was told the last three plugs are behind a flange or something and hard to get at.

Any advice is greatly appreciated...and again, I'm not a hardcore car guy, I just like this car. And I apologize if this has been answered elsewhere, I searched the forums but only saw very specific technical plug stuff.

Thanks!

Its a GTS Spyder, and the reason you pay so much is the fact that most of the intake needs to be taken apart to get to the second cylinder bank... which is billable hours... lots of em...
