$200 out-the-door at my local muffler shop.  New Magnaflo muffler,  Chrome Oval Tip, All labor.  (Pics and soundclip to follow if any interest?)

It sounds great, never to loud and no droning sound on the highway.

No gains though on the "Butt-Dyno" so-to-speak.

**********  UPDATED WITH PICS  *************

NOTE: DONT GET A FLOWMASTER ON THE OUTIE V6!  I had that put on first, it was a lil loud and DRRROONNNED loudly whenever i was cruising.  The magnaflow i replaced it with is great tho.

With a muffler you arent going to get any gains. Purely sound.

Yeah thats usual...

My little power adder soon to come will be the high flow cat.

If you year+state Outlander is ULEV then u lost 7HP right there from the super restrictive (highly effective) Cat it is equipped with.

A decent Highflow wont pop a CEL either, have to extend the Secondary o2 sensor wiring a little tho on my 07 since its in the middle of the cat now and needs to be relocated directly behind the Highflow now.

Maybe in a couple months ill get to it.

Sounds clips. I hate flow crappers compared to magnaflow.

Im sorry but you are mistaken concerning most applications.  They may not help on a sohc 1.5l civic or whatever, but i gained 4whp on a 2001 GSR on a dynojet from a Highflow cat alone.

It all depends on the application, and in this instance: Replacing a V6 PZEV OEM cat (last "simple-to-replace" bottleneck in my outies exhaust) with a 2.5" Metal-Substrate 450+cfm Highflow will net HP gains.

Which direct applications have you experienced no gains?  Ive experienced 3 cars gain between 4HP(01 Integra GSR) and 8HP(1998 Camaro Z28) from the Highflow addition alone.

Here is my first hit when i searched for a random comparison also:  http://forums.focaljet.com/svt-headquarters/512010-cfm-dyno-test-svt-stock-cat-vs-offroad-pipe-vs-high-flow-cat.html

I have seen a dyno that gained 1whp. That to me is nothing.

1 more peak(overall hp) is sometimes seen... but there are fluctuating gains throughout the rpm band.  Its nice to have a little more power when you arent pegging the tach.

It wont knock a tenth off a quarter mile or anything, but heck its cheap... quick... and passes smog(if you get the right cat)

It is nice to know too that a 2007 car doesnt have to be smogged til 2013... so swap back in 6 years if need be.
