Read the first paragraph in the seller's description.  Registered as a kit car.

Kit car means he basically built it from the ground up.  I don't remember how they do the VIN for it but it's the same thing that the guys with the street legal buggies and the boat cars have to go through to legalize their vehicles.  Not to mention there are quite a few antique LOOKING cars that are kit cars.  There are companies that sell kit car kits.  I believe the only thing you have to get yourself is the frame.  The rest you can get from a catalog and you register it as whatever the frame is.

a kit car is when you start out with one car and you have a 'kit' that 'makes' it another car.   you can take a Fiero and turn it into a lamborgini - i think total cost is like 50k.   so you'd save apx 40-50k by doing a kit car.
personally i'd ABSOLUTELY FREAKING LOVE to make an old school Shelby Roadster kit car!! 30k i think.

Bruno, i didn't read everything in there but if he actually imported it than it's the real deal.  he may have registered it as a kit car just to get around all the headaches ntm the 1 year wait to have an imported car legalized.    but that's what a kit car is.

TA you don't by chance have any pics do you?

Having it registered as a kit car isnt legit.

A kit car implies that the chassis has been constructed by you.. and is not something engineered by a present company. So, a Mitsubishi.. .is not a kit car, its a Mitsubishi. Simply modification of an already existing chassis does not count either.

In order for it to be a kit car it has to be made from scratch. You cant just import what ever and call it a kit. He had a hook up.
