ok so i've been reading thru the recent threads about people wanting to turbo their 3g... i have an 05 GT and i really want to take it further and invest in a nice turbo kit... i have seen in other posts that some would say that a 3g is not worth it and to just save and get an EVO... on the other hand ive seen some say that if your going to do it then just do it right.. i know at the end of the day ive got to make a choice but i just really want an honest opinion as i know this project is not cheap..

if possible can you please list any pros and cons that come to mind...

thanks in advance

The pros and cons are simple.  Pros are that you get more power and the con is that you still have a FWD.  That con only applies during launches though.  If you plan on keeping your car, then invest in a turbo kit or the supercharger kit.  What people are saying when they say to do it right is to not piece cheap parts together.  Don't forget about stiffening your suspension too.  You may also want to consider getting an LSD.  Suspension and an LSD can help with doing away with wheel hop.  Remember, "you've gotta pay to play".
If you've got an automatic, get a higher stall converter and shift kit.
Also, what motor do you have, 2.4L, 3.0L?

silver, he said he had a 05 GT so its the V6 3.0L. Turbocharging that motor is alittle more of an issue than it would be to TC the 2.4L however there are alot of people that have done it and there are a few companies that offer fulls kits for that motor. It all really comes down to money. How much do you want to spend? how much can you spend? Because if you cant afford to do it, then DO NOT do it or attempt to do it

Im not sure if tearstone is still offering the turbokits but at one time they were the best in the buisiness for the 3g. Here is their website

you are looking at least 10 grand to get at least 10psi

look at the thread of upgrade options for 3g

you can go the supercharger route and get about 400 hp from ripp mods. but that is about 6-7 grand. i would suggest to save your money.  i have a 04 gts, the most i am going to do is a catback and new headers. then a new paint job because mine is spidering off.

sorry for the bad new man

they dont make a gt for the 05s? its a gts? all 03-05 were gts if they were the 3.0 liters

and they have a compression ratio of 10:1 which is bad for the turbo setup :(

8psi. 300whp 4k

471whp 20k

i konw ive done it :)

if you have any questions.. let me know by just replying back.

yeah its a GT.. I don't necessarily want a beast lol just something faster than usual ya know? Maybe more like the 4k setup you mentioned.. Ive been reading in other posts and I know that others like you dusty and sebba will agree to swap the pistons out but beyond that is there anything else I should really look for???

You just gotta make sure you use proper tuning devices when doing forced induction. and from what i've heard, the GT/S motor's ECU does not like the AFC's too much. You'd have to get more info from somebody else on that though.

GTs are still 03-05, GTS were the all around package type of thing. and from what i read, i believe the emange will work for the ecu
