I noticed an interior squeek on the way home from work today.

  • Worst when cold
  • on right side
  • not brake related
  • not suspension related
  • generally only when turning

Anyone experience this? Where was it?

are you sure it is an interior squeek. go into a parking lot and drive with your head out the window or find an easier way. also does it only it do it when you turn left or right or does it matter?   and is it coming from the floor boards or around the door, or the back of the car....i guess be more specific.

The noise is definitely coming from inside. Over the years I've diagnosed a number of chryslers for squeeks, and most of the time the culprit is in the strut assembly...or the culprit was a part NOT being in the strut assembly in some cases.

The sound is not muffled, and as crisp as the squeek is, i can rule out an outside epicenter. Additionally, a variety of braking situations, as well as moderate to severe load-shift situations failed to reproduce the squeek, thereby eliminating any decent possibility of the problem being S&S related. Just for good measure, I bounce-tested the suspension to be sure.

The squeek was surely that of a plastic to plastic friction. After the years i've spent in the auto service industry, i've come to have a nack for isolating a problem to one system or another, so i'm confident to say the squeek is interior.

Basically, if you've had this problem before (a squeek from the right front of the interior at dash level), and can easily identify it via my description, please let me know.

Thanks for the response!!
