I am looking to trade my 06 rsx in, I was looking at a used 06 Eclipse gt from a local nissan dealership. The car has 24k miles, leather, rockford fosgate, sunroof and power driver seat. not to mention, a 6 speed manual. It seems like more car for the buck than I have now. I think it is fairly optioned out. The exterior color is the Sunset orange metallic. I dont know what you call it but its a burnt looking metallic orange, looks pretty nice. The price on the car is $15991, they have the same car on the internet for $13911.  If I can get it for just under 14k, is that a good deal? They are also lowballing my trade about $1500 or so.

The only real bitch I have about it is the screen on top of the dash is hard to read in the sunlight, and I dont think it lights up with the lights on, should it?

I would say go for it.  I have an 06 Eclipse GS with liquid silver paint and all factory options except leather seats and fog lamps.  The light on the dash lights up a light color of blue while its on as well as at night.  I love the interior of my car the way she lights up ice blue with red needles. so purdy :)

I am leaning towards it, the other alernative is a new impreza wrx. I like the sound of AWD turbo, but the eclipse was fun to drive and options for dollars, I think this is where its at. Plus I would rather finance 14k as opposed to 23K.

Is there anything wrong with your 2006 RSX???  I can't believe the dealer offered you $1,500 with a straight face!!!!  Heck, when I bought my 2006 Eclipse in late 2005, I got $1,600 for my 2001 Cavalier that had 127,000 miles.  The only options on it were sunroof, spoiler, and cruise.

Acura's hold their value well.  You could easily sell it on Craigslist.  If you like to argue, fight with the dealer on the value because he is seriously raping you.

As far as whether you would like the GT better, that is completely up to you.  I personally liked it better than the RSX.  I ended up going with the GS due to me driving alot and wanting better gas mileage.  The GS also takes regular fuel so that was an additonal savings too.

That is exactly why I got my 06 GS too  sleukem.  I had a firebird with a 3.8 litre v6 that only got about 25 mpg on a good couple days.  I drive 30 miles to work each way, and now I go all week on 1 tank of gas.  Gas isnt to bad here in south carolina.  Its just now getting to be 3.01 per gallon.  so The GS is a really good thing to think about.

The rsx was in a side impact, causing the airbags to deploy. The damage done was $7500. On average I have been getting offers between 10000 and 15000. It just so happens that the dealership the eclipse was at offered me 12500. I owe 14000 on the RSX thats what I meant by 1500. I am not happy with the repairs done on the RSX, I have been back and forth with the bodyshop and I was without a car for almost 2 months. So I decided f-it, Im going to just trade it in provided I can break even. Well I went with the eclipse, they offered me 13500 for my car, and I am going to be upside down by about $750, I can live with that. My interest rate dropped 4 points since my credit has improved. So my payments will even be lower.
I think I got a pretty good deal, burnt orange 06 gt w/24k miles for 13990. I have been all over auto trader, nada, and kbb. You cant even touch a GT for that price from what I have seen, most GS go for that.

I would definitely go for it. I have the same car but with black leather interior. I love it! The sunset pearlescent orange paint makes the car even more sick. The interior dash lights are awesome. The blue lights at night time look sweet and you can see them in the daytime too if you have the knob turned all the way up.  I got mine with 13,402 miles on it and total price paid will be $20,538.50 with all documents and title fees, after $1000 down. I love my car. The only downside about the GT is having to use premium fuel as opposed to the GS using unleaded. But if you love the car and love driving it and can afford the fuel costs then overall the car is worth the money.

picked it up today, put about 30 miles on it. So far I love it compared to my rsx. Can someone point me in the right direction for a rear bumper reflector? I want to avoid the stealership if possible, I will be having to go get a spare key from them soon.
