1990 galant trans stuck in limp mode. Had the trans computer checked and it was defective, sent it in to be repaired. Put the repaired computer back in but the car is still stuck in 3rd gear. How do I get the car out of limp mode?   please help thanks! Brian

Well first try and reset the battery. If the battery doesnt get it out then that means your car is going into limp mode right away which probabaly is bad wiring. Either they wired it wrong, or you had a short to begin with

I removed the positive wire to the battery for an hour then rehooked it but it is still stuck in 3rd. Should I hook it to a code reader to check for codes or do I need to reset the computer with the code reader?  please, any help is appreciated thanks Brian

I tried some trans tune fluid which is made by Sea Foam to clean up the transmission. Drove the car for 10 miles to warm up the trans. I let the car sit for a couple of hours then drove it again. Now the trans shifts perfectly in all gears not bad for $8.50. I will drive it for a couple hundred miles then change the fluid.
