Allright here's the rundown, lost pressure in the clutch pedal and had to powershift to get the car home.  It's a 01 eclipse gs with the 4banger and a 5 speed obviously from the post title.  Looked at the slave cylinder resivour and it was dry.  Filled it up, bleed the clutch so no air bubbles were coming out, just clear fluid.  Now the car doesn't want to go into 1st and if you get it there you can only shift to second and the car dies.  The rubber valve in the slave cylinder was leaking when the pedal was pushed, put a hose clamp on there, no leak now but still won't go into gear without dying.  What happened and how do I fix it???  The car has 55k on it and was just purchased from a small dealership approximately 2 months ago. Please help if possible, thanks.

Clutch is roasted, possibly the transmission is toast too

Hopefully not, can't afford to drop that kind of money into it at the moment.  It was driving just fine up until yesterday, no symptoms of a bad clutch like slippage, no hard shifts, anything.

Yeah... but the dry reservoir makes the clutch slip, so now its worn to hell.

Crap.  Any estimates on how much a clutch job runs?  On the bad side of things, just how much is a trans for one of these things, either rebuilt or reman?
