Ok so I am getting my head unit replaced on sat. and am wondering if anyone has any good ideas as to what to do with the old display that is mounted in the dash, has anyone come up with alternate uses for it once the factory deck has been replaced?  Can the clock be made to still work?

I always thought the clock will work still but not sure.  I have seen people mount SAFC2s behind there or some forms of a wideband guage display for the turbo guys

when i bought my eclipse it already had a sony head unit installed and the clock function stills works on the display on the dash...wasnt aware until i joined this forum that it originally had a temp. function as well, but i guess that is disabled once an aftermarket deck is installed, but as i said the clock still works on mine.

the clock and temperature should still work. The display also shows what radio station you are on. That will probably not work.
I have seen everything from 2 or 3 gauges to safc2 as well as tv monitors and gps systems. You could put almost anything there.
