I hope it was just poor lighting!, if not, that's very noticeable !
Localized on one side or both ?

It's almost like someone tried to force the hood open or closed while something was jamed in the hinge.  I know 2 people who had hood issues after taking their cars to dealer,  my brother had a dent in the center of the hood, after a mechanic left a tool attached to the intake manifold, when he slammed the hood the tool punched a dent in the hood.  And my uncle got a small dent when the mechanic jammed the rod that hold the hood open in the wrong hole.

It's hard to tell how large of an area it covers, but it almost looks like the indentations could be from somebody leaning hard on the hood with their elbow, knee or hand.  Like some kids in parking lot or parking garage.

Is it just the driver side or both sides of the hood?  If it's just one side then the other thought i had was maybe you accidentally pressed on the hood while you were washing/detailing the car.  I know i have had to lean too far over the hood to reach the center of the roof and windshield before and pushed on the hood making it flex.  Just a thought tho.

I bought the car during a big storm... couldnt wash the car for a week and was unable to give it a good lookover when i picked it up at the dealer.

As soon as i washed it I noticed it immediately!  I hadnt even opened the hood yet nor had anybody touched it.  These dents came from the dealership.

I called and they said they would give me a cheap deal on paintless dent removal, but wouldnt fix it for free because the car i traded in blew the motor the next day and they werent too happy with me (I told them it needed work!!!)

My mom will be submitting her picture soon.  She has 1 of the same dents in the same location.  THIS IS ONLY ON THE DRIVERS SIDE TOP HOOD LINE.

Sounds like the dealer wants to get even with you . But seriously, I don't have those dents and I have the pearl black paint. I would have them fix it since from your story it sounds like they're the ones responsible for it.

I'm sorry to hear about your issues with the dealer, but at least your got your 'lander before your trade blew up .  I'd find an outside company to try the paintless dent removal.  Your dealer may make things worse or overcharge you anyways.

It's also good news for the rest of us that this seems like an outside factor and not a manufacturing issue...

I have these same dents. The dealership insisted that it was my fault and I reluctantly went on with life. But now that I know I am not the only one. Mine look exactly the same in the same spot. Any one else?

I have an 07 with the same dent. My picture isn't that great but the dent is there.  It has to be a mfg defect.
