Is it possible to swap the OEM hand brake for something like this: http://www.motorsportworld.co.uk/frame-detail.asp?PAGE=/momo-handbrake-handles.htm

Also, does the manual shift nob just unscrew and does the trim around the shift boot just pop out or do I have to remove the center consol and come in from underneath?

Both questions relate to a 2001 Eclipse GT V6 with a manual transmission.

yes you can but make sure the hand brake fits. first of all the cover for it just slides off. when i bought mine i had to bore it out and it sitll didnt  fit so i gave up.

the shift knob just unscrews. (rightie tightie, lefty loosey) the shift boot should come along after that...but i dont remember. if the trim snags it just pop that off. if it doesnt pop off, i wouldnt even worry about the boot...tearing out the center console is not worth it you will break a fastener.

hope this helps
