Hello, I need to find a part for my car and I'm having alot of difficulties finding it. I called some salvage place/junk yards but they said I had to purchase the whole freakin door! All I am looking for is the drivers side inside window stripping. You know the part that goes between the door panel and the window to protect water from getting inside and all that jazz. If anybody has any hints on how I can find a place to buy this part I'll be much obliged.

I'm not sure if I'm thinking of the right part for you. I had cause to look it up in response to some moldy odor coming from my driver side door window. Mitsubishi addressed the issue in service bulletin (Door Window - Musty Odor No.: TSB-01-42A-008REV DATE: October, 2001) They refer to the following parts needing to be replaced: For the 2001 Mitsubishi Eclipse/Spyder it's: Inner beltline moulding - LH MR271759 Inner beltline moulding - RH MR271760 Outer beltline moulding - LH MR271697 Outer beltline moulding - RH MR271698 The procedure for replacing it is: 1. Lower the door window. 2. Remove the door trim (inner door panel). Remove the inner beltline moulding from the door trim. 3. Remove the door mirror. 4. Remove the outer beltline moulding and the waterproof plastic film. 5.. Spray undiluted rubbing alcohol onto the window regulator, window channel, inner metal door surfaces, wiring harnesses, door locks, back side of door trim, and both sides of the waterproof plastic film. Thorough cleaning is required to prevent return of the odor. Wipe off as necessary and allow to air dry. 6. Inspect door drain holes for blockage. Clean as necessary. 7. Reconnect the power window switch and raise the door glass. Spray undiluted rubbing alcohol on both sides of the glass, and dry with paper towels. Then lower the window again. 8. Install the new inner and outer beltline mouldings listed in the PARTS INFORMATION section of this bulletin. 9. Reinstall the door mirror. 10. Reinstall the waterproof plastic film and the door trim. 11. Repeat this procedure on the other door(s). Replace the inner and outer beltline mouldings on all doors.
