Whats up everyone! New to the boards but i was just looking for some input from people that actually have the car or know something about it. What to look out for or what you think. If you would recommend the car. Please post ... would help me alot!

I have had two 3gs one was a 2002 GT spyder and the other was a 2000 GS both manuals, but here are the problems the clutches (manual only) and throw out bearings always rattle no problem just annoying.. the rotors are very easily worpped the sunroofs all have a tough time opening and closeing and the Rear side marker bulbs always blow out

The GT spyder I had was nice but no potencial to make fast easily if thats your thing. the GS was terrible it was slow and broke down all the time and it was always something major to repair. I talking $1000s at a time to fix.

I personally would also say get either a 1G or the new 4G those are the two best Eclipses ever made the 2Gs had thier issues (Crankwalk) and the 3Gs were a step down IMO.

If the car is for modding dont get a 3G but if its for driving normally than there is no reason why not

If you want to find all the low down on the 3G eclipse go to Neweclipse.org or Club3G.com both have tons of members and even more info on the car it can be very helpfull

my 00' GS experienced some tranny and power steering unit problems. the dealer kept the car for 4 days, in order to fix the problems. and that was it! had enough of the 3rd gen. eclipse's.

Well, I can't complain too much about the 01 GT, it's a fun car to have, and even in the thin air of CO, it can muster some power. It's really up to you, I found mine with 36k miles for $13,929. So I had to get it, lol considering my other car was a 85 Mazda RX-7, and I needed to make a trip to Reno.

85' RX 7?? hard to find bro....awww CO. yeah that thin air...lolz in the air force ?? was stationed up there, @ ft. carson.(02-03) anyway, 36k for $13,929...good deal bro. see, mine is the guinea pig eclipse (00 mod. first one to hit the show room) and i, thought i, hit the jackpot. but like i, said its the first one to hit the show room...and i, learned something from the show room's new mods. that new 06' is pretty cool, gettin tempted to get one. but i'll wait till next yr. that is after a year test / review of the 06' mod.

In 2000 was the best of all the 3Gs. the 2000 GT is better than the 03 GTS. ask anyone of the V6 guys over one club3g.com, the 00 GT were all fed specs which were faster, and the 01s were mostly all cali specs and from there everything was a cali spec.

There are dyno results to prove the difference between the to cars from stock to stock all the way up with the same Xtech turbo kits the fed spec always made a good mount of power higher than the cali spec GT.

The GTS stock for stock with the fed spec will dyno the same or about the same however the GTS uses a different compression ratio therefore it doesnt hold to any type of boost to well. the FED specs and cali specs can hold around 12 PSI with stock internals and a good tune and not have any trouble as for the GTS at 6 PSI you are advised to get Pistons and rods(pistons are the main problem, the rods in all year GT and GTS were pretty strong and can hold up to about 500WHP without a budge)

Most guys would kiil for that 2000 fed spec GT they are rather hard to get and the cali spec just loses out with the power
