Electrical Problem

steezbro -> Electrical Problem (4/28/2008 10:06:55 PM)

So here it is. After jump starting my car one day (2002 Eclipse) about 2 minutes after the jump start a bunch of electrical things went out in my car. So some of the things that went out in my car at this time were:

Dash Clock
Power Door Locks (ONLY when the car is off, they work when the car is running)
CD player
Sunroof
Door Open light on dash

All those things went out meaning they do not have power anymore. As like if All of those fuses went out. So I then proceeded to check all the fuses. All of the fuses in the 2 fuse boxes (under dash, and in engine bay) are all good.
That brings me to my question,

What do you guys think happened? What should I check next to see what I need to replace?

Thanks for the help. Ill be glad to answere any questions, to help me find out what is wrong.

And the disconnecting and reconnecting did nothing. What should I try or test next? Thanks for the help

How did you check the fuses?  Also check the fusible links and any relays in the fuse box.

Is there anything else that doen't work?

Try replacing the battery for another of a friends car or something... do you have problems starting your car?

I checked the fuses by pulling them out individually and visually looking at it to see if it is blown. All were all still connected.  And Idk what the fusible links look like and how to check those. and the relays i dont know how to check due to they are the solid black blocks correct?

and for all the things that I can tell doesnt work that i notice are:

Door locks (when cars off)
CD player
Dash clock
Door open light on the dash
Sunroof
and I think I recal the chime (where the noise makes when the key is half turned maybe)

were asking because something there got messed up...  however your car starts up fine... and all that works when its on... so the alternator is ruled out....
