i am about to purchase a new convertable and i am looking for advice. i am thinking about getting a 2008 Mitsubishi Eclipse Spyder GS and would like to know if there are any issues with this car?

i have no idea... as far as i know i havent heard anything wrong with it... but it's such a new car i'd think it'd almost be impossible to tell

Probably the usual recalls (even Honda has them). Other than that, nothing major. Although like sk8 said, without having over 100k miles on the car there really isnt a way to tell with any car what its long term faults are.

For the most part I wouldn't worry. The only unreliable Mitsubishis are the one made right here in the USA.

If you put the top up and down all the time then eventually it will develop a leak somewhere around the moldings. That was one of the main reasons why I got rid of my '97 Spyder GS and never again will own a convertable. Go for a hard top coupe with a sunroof man. You'll love it and that's what I did and I have no regrets at all.
