ok, i have recently got my eclipse. It has a certain sentimental value so i plan on keeping it long-term. My 2 questions are though.

1- Is it possible to put Tectonic Shift in my car so i can have both auto an manual.

2- If the first isnt possible, then could I put an Audi A4 or TT engine and transmission in my car.

i tried to search what a Tectonic Shift even looks like or is to that fact and i came up with nothing. could you post a link of what it is or looks like. (i know what it does...its a "shift o matic"0

2. anything is possible as long as you engineer it. but a perfect fit, good luck.

you will get better responces from more educated people. but please post a link of what you are talking about.

i cant really post a link because i havent seen anything worthwhile either. The official mitsubishi name for it is a Sportronic transmission. Other names are manumatic, and CVT transmissions. Thanks for your help. if i find i link or anything i will post it.

Honestly i'm sure it's possible but not worth the money.. IMO - Don't see why you'd want two different trans styles - Also what PoolhallJunkie said about the engine, anything's possible if you can work with it -- But all depends on how much your willing to spend..

i know what you are talking about now. i had one in my lumnia i called it a shift o matic.

do you just want an auto car?

how i would go about it is junk  yards of some sort or wait till you see someone in the paper of what have you, parting out a car with it in it. im pretty sure if you go to the dealer, they are going to hand you some vasaline and go to town....on your wallet....

be smart about what you want and if it is worth it.

OMG

first of all is your car an auto??  if it is an auto you can prob swap in the swap tranny and ecu ect and make it work.  that is much more logical that trying to swap in an audi motor that is just way out in left field and will never happen.

another easy logical thing you can do is (if it a GS or RS) you can is turbo the motor rather easy too but very costly

Yea, I looked into the turbos for RS' and not really worth it, plus taking the chance to mess the engine - Rather just go and get a turbo eclipse and be on my happy way
