well since this is a bike thread... anyone here know how many teeth i should go up in the rear to get an easy wheelie?  i dont wanna change the front sprocket, just the rear so how many teeth should i go up to get an ez wheelie but still able to cruise at highway speeds??  I was thinking going to a 47 tooth rear... stock on my bike is 42

Bigger the better.

yeah it''s a vulcan, it is running straight pipe so it''s louder than hell.  i am looking at getting just a suzuki 750, i don''t need a lot of power and i have no interest in doing wheelies so it''s just around town.

Also remembering this will kill your top speed

hatchetman9449 -> RE: Motorcycle Riders Sign In! (6/8/2008 10:33:43 PM)

yea i know... im not to scared of loosing my top speed though cuz i doubt it will get to the point where it will limit me to anything... right now my bike does 110mph in 4th gear.... i got 2 more gears to go, so i think ill be fine with top speed...

Sebba -> RE: Motorcycle Riders Sign In! (6/9/2008 8:35:21 AM)

You cant pop a wheelie off the line with the current gearing?

sk8dudety -> RE: Motorcycle Riders Sign In! (6/9/2008 7:05:17 PM)

you absolutely can, but he''s probably to scared to learn the real way to pop a wheelie without hurting himself... dont be an idiot and do wheelies if you dont know how too, it''s a good way to ruin a bike, plus you know once you pull it all apart you''ll never get it back together

dorian7 -> RE: Motorcycle Riders Sign In! (6/10/2008 9:12:21 AM)

if you do any sort of hwy riding I wouldn''t suggest it because your 65ish MPH rpm can shoot up as much as 2k with that gearing plus you should be able to do it fine now you just have to goose and and let the clutch out more quickly. L4 on motorcycles generally don''t have anything it the lower RPMs so you are going to have to get them up a little.
