Nope... after the version up, the MMCS sits with a black screen.  Same behavior as before when you said you got a CRC or a checksum wrong.  Looks like now I have to pull the drive to fix it, too :)

Hrmm..
Damnit, this''d be a lot easier if I had access to a unit over here .. :)
Gimme a bit to check it out..

I hear ya.. too bad Mitsubishi wants too much $$ for them.  For now though we can work with what we got :)  I don''t mind testing with my unit, the only annoying part (for me) is when something does go wrong and I have to go thru the HDD unlock procedure to restore the original program!

I''ve prepared myself a CD for this
A simple shell file with the unclock command and the key and then overwrite the kwi

OK I registered just to say:

I thank you guys for all the work that you have put into the little project.  I have an evox and I throughly enjoy the DVD in motion (and so do my kids).  The bullshit on ebay is horrible.  I can''t stand when somebody takes advantage of somebody else''s stuff... I will not surf thru ebay every day and report every single auction that I see as inappropriate and tell Ebay its copyrighted.  I hope the cock-sucker gets mugged and raped leaving the bank.

*Also on a side note how is the AV while in motion coming?  Need more beer money?  HAHA   I am gonna throw a PS3 in the car so I can play Gran Turismo with the evox while in the evox  : )

Thanks again guys!

It should just upgrade you from 00.20.68 to 00.30.94.  My system was running 00.20.68 when I bought the car (otaku, this is the first kwi version you should have ever received).  After updating, I''m now running 00.30.94 perfectly with dvd-in-motion allowed.

Are you sure you burned the Update CD correctly?  You should have two files when you insert it in a PC:  Loading.kwi, and Alldata.kwi.

This is such a grate forum. I have not stoped by in awhile and Now I have DVD in motion Thanks to the great people here. There is alot of info here and alot of pages on this subject. Getting some of the data and files can take a little time to find what most are looking for... Just to help sum it up a bit here is what I got out of this.......

This is what I used on a 2007 outlander XLS

Procedure
1. To find out what Application version you have:
a) hold SET+NAVI for about 5 seconds to enter "Service Mode" menu
b) press Version Indication
c) note somewhere the APPLICATION version.

from 00.20.68 to 00.30.94

Use this ISO* found here:
http://rs355.rapidshare.com/files/118876540/MMCS-261UM.iso
uploaded by JSRD on another page

That was made for 00.30.94
If you have 00.20.68 It will update it to 00.30.94 as brian360 said above.

* a .iso is a file ready to be burned to a cd. kinda like a .zip. use a program to burn it to cd,It will decompress the files and burn it.DONT JUST BURN THE .iso to the disc as it will not work. I used UltraISO to burn mine.     YOu can use a program like PowerArchiver to open .iso file like a .zip and then burn the two files to a blank.

eather way Ur burned disc will contain two files named:

ALLDATA.KWI     -  4KB in size
and
LOADING.KWI     -  23.8MB in size

DRIVE SAFE

Looking for that aux-in-motion version......Eather way I am happier now then before..
