Okaaaay, big issue now. I downloaded a would be patch from http://www.deltainfo.ro/manuals/mits...MMCS-261UM.iso which I got off of the forums. I inserted the disc and got the "new program found" message, and hit yes, per the instructions. Then it went to the updating screen and got to about 60% and the screen went blank. That''s it, now the entire MMCS doesn''t work!!!! Please help, I got this ''09 GTS a week ago, and I''m not really looking to break it just yet..

Could have been a bad burn. The MMCS seems to be terrible at checking the image before accepting it. The md5sum of LOADING.KWI for NR261-UM AppVer 00.30.94 with dvd-in-motion patch should be: 4397d9fce192254d4788d67fe632e08d Check this on the CD you burned and attempted to use. When you turn your ignition key "On" (with the update disc removed) do you always see the "Version up in progress" message briefly before the screen goes black?

Yes, exactly. It shows it quickly go all the way through the update, and then reverts back to the black screen. Any ideas on how I can fix this? I would greatly appreciate the help.

How computer saavy are you? The most certain way to fix it is to remove the HDD, unlock it, and manually copy over the LOADING.KWI file. If that sounds out of your reach, I''ll experiment with my MMCS to see if theres a way to force a reload off the CD. Otaku: Any ideas from looking at the disassembled bootloader?

Just tried it on my 2008 Outlander XLS Canadian version. My MMCS info before the update was: Loader: BLD-NR-261UM 1.09 Application: 00.30.94 Navi Sub Microcomputer: 00.30.00 089004 Audio Microcomputer: 00.29.02 002902 Map Data: M110 ANA_07_200701B Monitor: 00.79.00 CAN BOX: 000120 I used the MMCS-261UM.ISO burnt with Nero. It worked just fine without any errors and all options(navi, sat, bluetooth) etc all appear to remain functional. I checked the version after the update, it still shows the same as above. Great work guys! Weird that this did not work for you Outie08.

I''m a newly graduated electrical engineer, so i''d hope that i''m relatively computer savvy. I could potentially remove the hard drive and replace the file, but I''d rather not to, as it being new and I have no experience with the hardware, I would like to leave it alone. If we accept it as the last resort, I can do it, but do you ahve any other ideas?? What does Otaku mean by the disassembled bootloader? I could probably find it if I knew where to look. Please let me know what you need.

To access the HDD read this first: http://www.mitsubishiforum.com/m_208034/tm.htm But I would suggest to try a different burner before, preferably a CD burner not a DVD burner, even if you use a CD. To have a bad loader seems very hard to believe. Most probably the MMCS'' unit refuses to read the CD if it is not as it likes (I had numerous DVDs classified as ''not readable'' by the MMCS) quote:

The bootloader is that piece of code written into MMCS EEPROM/FLASH equivalent of the BIOS for a regular PC, but (mostly) having only the function of loading the operating system without any additional setup program as a regular BIOS have. It is not directly accesible to be dumped and most probably you will not be able to get it from your MMCS.
